We’ve just completed a late-November, 4 day stay at Christine’s Cottage in East Blue Hill and couldn’t be more pleased. The cottage is cozy, quaint and comfy and a perfect size for a couple. Every room is generously and thoughtfully appointed and met all of our needs during the stay. What appears to be a brand new kitchen could please a master chef, yet easily blends into the vintage look of the rest of the cottage. The knotty pine living room is decorated in classic Maine style. Then there’s the location and view. Hidden away on rustic road with no traffic or other intrusions it is peaceful solitude day and night. The views are incredible from the kitchen, living room and deck, and the staircase down to the water will get you even closer if you choose. Postcard perfect hardly does it justice. The water, shoreline, mountains and sky change continuously and are always dazzling. As we departed we had one thought in our minds… we’ll be back.

WOW!!! Loved our 8 day stay at the Sea Green Cottage. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed, it felt just like home. Gorgeous location with the added bonus of being able to launch our kayaks from the cabin. We spent 3 days kayaking, 2 days walking the trails and 2 days in Acadia. We’ll be back.

We loved this cabin on the cove. We loved coming back from our morning hikes to see the tide change. The cabin offered peacefulness and proximity to everything on Deer Isle. It had everything we wanted and needed.

We can’t begin to express how much we loved our stay at Christines’s! It is the most perfect cozy fit for our needs and the location and surroundings make it ideal.

We love all of the touches in the cottage that express the family’s history and their own love for the place, and we have truly fallen in love with Blue Hill.

We hope to stay again!

Well stocked farmhouse with lots of room for the extended family. A wonderful family trip!

Those of us who have spent summers in Maine since childhood can recognize when a cottage hits all the marks, and this one does. It’s just perfect. Not fancy. You don’t want fancy. But it is cozy and earthy and elegant, outfitted with what you need, access to quiet harbors, a good chair to sit by the sea in, a comfy bed with an ocean breeze. This spot is all that. My mom, a local, says it felt like home.If I’lucky, I’ll get to go back! Grateful

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Sea Green Cottage. The home is beautifully maintained, incredibly well equipped, and offers every comfort you could ask for including a very cozy bed. Mike, our host, was quick to respond to any questions and made us feel truly welcome and we even joked that we wished he were our neighbor! He knows the area inside and out and was a terrific resource. The cottage is private and peaceful, with the added bonus of watching seals from the sun porch and enjoying the beautiful birds that frequent the area. It was the perfect base camp for exploring Deer Isle and Stonington. We especially enjoyed dining at Finn and Fern and Crybabies in Stonington and both were excellent. The Barred Island trail was a standout…stunning, unspoiled, and deeply peaceful. There are so many scenic trails to discover throughout the area. Deer Isle is a special place, and Sea Green Cottage is the perfect spot to soak it all in. Highly recommended!

This was a perfect place to retreat to after seeing Acadia. My kids said this was the best cabin we’ve ever been to. Super cute. We enjoyed the kayaks and playing in the lake. Momo’s 24/7 self-service cheesecake is a must. 86This! was delicious. We hope to be back.

Amazing spot! Simple, quiet, with a sprinkle of local lobster boats humming by. Perfect weather highlighted the sky, the water and the sunsets. I put away the phone (unreliable internet) opened up a good book, visited the nearby sand beach for a cold plunge, and took in some local theater. This place is a gift for the soul.

Dorsey Cottage was the highlight of our Maine road trip. We’d never been to Little Deer Isle before and didn’t know to much about the area, but as we got closer and turned into the long drive and saw the water through the trees, we knew we’d found our spot. The setting is unbeatable with total privacy, a huge lawn for our kids to run around, and the kind of peaceful cove that really feels like you have your own private harbor.

The inside of the cottage was clean, comfortable, and just as shown. Nothing fancy, but everything worked well, plenty of hot water, a big fridge, and a nice kitchen. The deck was our favorite hangout spot. We watched the tides come and go, spotted seals out in the distance, and even grilled dinner one night as the sky changed wild colors. It was deeply relaxing being right on the water like that. And Eggemoggin Reach was one of the most beautiful places we’ve seen on the coast.

We drove into Brooklin one day to check out the WoodenBoat School and spent another afternoon hiking a preserve on Deer Isle. We left feeling rested and grateful.

We stayed at Bungalhigh for a mid-summer getaway with our dog, and it was exactly the kind of peaceful retreat we were hoping for. The cottage feels tucked away and private, but it’s also super close to the town center, where we walked to grab coffee, groceries, and even a local concert one night.

We cooked dinner a couple of times using fresh seafood from Johnson’s and had everything we needed in the kitchen, including a lobster pot, which made our boil night extra fun. Mornings were spent sipping coffee on the porch overlooking the bay, and in the evenings, we walked along the shoreline or just watched the light change over the water.

The house itself is cozy and full of personality — it’s not fancy, but it’s clean, comfortable, and feels like it’s been loved by the same family for a long time. There were books and thoughtful touches all over. Our pup had the time of his life sniffing around the woods and swimming in the cove. We left feeling rested and recharged and already want to come back next year.

This cottage was the right place for us. The views from the deck are stunning, you can catch sunrises over the water and plenty of wildlife. The whole place has the perfect rustic feel and an overall quiet vibe that got us into the Maine mood from day one. We will definitely return!

We came with our two kids and had a fantastic week at Bridges Camp. They loved paddling around in the kayaks while we sat nearby on the porch, watching the sun behind the trees. We grilled dinners outside, played board games by the fireplace, and walked the shoreline almost every day. One highlight was a day trip to Acadia — a bit of a drive, but well worth it. Coming back to the peace and quiet of Little Deer Isle afterward felt great. This place made us feel like we had our own little corner of the coast.

My partner and I stayed at Bunglehigh for a week in late summer, and honestly, we wished we booked for 2 weeks. The place just has a calm, easy feel — you wake up to the sound of water and birds, make coffee in that little red kitchen, and sit out on the porch watching the light change on the bay. We brought our dog, who loved poking around the woods and down by the water.

We took the kayaks out a few times — one morning the water was like glass, and a seal popped up maybe 15 feet from us. The bedroom is super cozy. The books on the shelves, the artwork, even the lamps all made it feel like someone cared about this place. You can walk into town for groceries or breakfast, which we did a few times, and the Blue Hill Co-op was great. Already thinking about coming back next year.

We stayed at Sealight for a full week in August, and it was without a doubt one of the most memorable vacations our family has ever had. There were 13 of us in total: grandparents, siblings, kids, and cousins ranging from toddlers to teens. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were just blown away. The house itself has this magical, old-world charm, but everything is updated and so thoughtfully decorated. It never felt crowded. Every couple had their own room, and the kids had space to spread out and do their kid things.

The mornings started slowly, usually with coffee on the enclosed porch overlooking Frenchman Bay. We watched the fog lift off the water and even saw some seals in the harbor. Afternoons were kayaking adventures launched right off the private dock, exploring tidepools on the beach, and we also did 2 day trips into Acadia National Park. We spent one morning in Bar Harbor and another hiking the Schoodic side, both easy and nice drives.

Evenings were our favorite, firing up the grill, the kids play foosball or run around on the lawn, and then sit down for long, laughter-filled dinners in the big dining room. The view from that table as the sun sets is totally unreal.

The house is beautifully decorated, classy and coastal, and just so much character. But it’s also comfortable. It felt like home, just with much better views and a lot more space!

Sealight gave us the rare kind of trip where everyone, from age 5 to 75, was happy. We’re already talking about coming back next year. If you’re lucky enough to stay here, take a deep breath when you arrive. You’ll want to remember how it feels.

Bridges Camp was exactly the kind of Maine experience we were looking for. The cabin has this simple handmade quality with the granite fireplace andthe wood floors. We explored Pumpkin Island one day and even made the drive to Blue Hill for a bit of antique shopping. But mainly, we were just as happy staying put. The firepit by the water and the quiet beach made for really relaxing evenings. Everything about it just slowed us down in the best way.

Every day, rain or shine, I’d bring my mug out to the porch swing at 6:30 AM and just… sit. I watched a heron fish in the shallows. A seal swam by twice. I read half a novel without even realizing it. The whole place just lets you be.

This was one of those vacations where we really didn’t want to leave. The first morning, coffee on the porch as the fog lifted off the water, and we knew this was just what we needed. We couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful getaway! The house feels like it’s part of the landscape, with massive windows that bring the outdoors in and a deck perfect for morning coffee with a view. The private beach was a highlight—our kids spent hours exploring the tide pools, and we loved the quiet walks along the shore. The property is so expansive that it feels like your own little nature reserve. The rooms are cozy yet spacious, and the thoughtful touches throughout the house made it feel really special. If you love the Maine coast and want privacy with stunning waterfront access, we cannot recommend this place enough!

We stayed at Dorsey Cottage for a week in early fall, and I can honestly say it was one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever experienced. The setting is incredible, the cove wraps around the cottage, and every time I looked up, the light on the water seemed to change. We spent hours on the back deck just listening to the breeze and watching the tide come in. One morning, we saw an eagle fly right over the lawn. Another day we launched the kayaks at high tide and paddled out toward Eggemoggin Reach. The water was so calm and the views just fabulous.

The house itself has such a relaxed vibe, which we loved. It’s not overly polished, but it felt real and welcoming, like a true Maine retreat. The fireplace made chilly nights extra cozy, and the general layout was perfect for our group. My husband and I took the downstairs bedroom with direct access to the deck, and our friend stayed upstairs and enjoyed her own space and bathroom.

We made a couple of short trips, one to Stonington for lunch and another to walk the shore at Reach Beach nearby, but mainly we were happiest just staying put. This place has a kind of quiet charm to it that’s hard to describe.

My wife and I went up for an extended labor day weekend. We cannot say enough about the beautiful setting of this house. It has an amazing private beach, is right next to a nature preserve and is across the street from another long stretch of public beach. All the people we met in deer island were warm and friendly and there are enough restaurants and a coffee shop in a 7-8 minute drive for it to be convenient but still isolated from most of the world. There are great hiking spots nearby plenty of places just to gaze out into the water if you prefer to rest. The cottage was simple and clean and has everything you need and more. The place is easy to find and the hosts communicate very well and are very responsive. If you want a peaceful natural Maine experience, then this is a great option.

The property is on a private road in a forest setting with water access. The views from the two decks were beautiful. The house had everything we needed for six adults to spend a comfortable, relaxing week. The decor is outdated and the house was a tad musty, but it was clean and tidy with large rooms and comfortable beds.

There was a group of 10 of us and the layout of the camp was perfect! It was clean, well stocked, great location….would most definitely stay again and recommend to others!

We loved the place. Relaxing on the screened-in front porch, drinks in hand, and gazing out over the water of Deer Cove calmed us down after a long drive. We actually let out an audible sigh! We dubbed it “Deer Cove Therapy”. We found the beds comfortable and the cabin clean. It felt very private yet only a 10 minute drive to the shops and restaurants of Stonington on the island. Loved the funky furniture. We all want to return to get some Deer Cove Therapy!

This property had so much character and the location can’t be beat! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back!

We spent 4 days here and had a great time! We have a sheepdog that likes to run so it was great that it was secluded and he could run off leash. We loved the screen porch—big bonus! Beautiful view, nice beach. Loved that the kitchen was so well stocked!!!
