The cottage itself is tucked into a private wooded setting within a larger family compound. Garden paths wind through beds of wildflowers and herbs, with quirky bits of yard art hidden like little surprises. A covered porch sits right at the water’s edge — close enough to hear the tide lapping at the rocks — and is perfect for morning coffee, an afternoon read, or evening stargazing wrapped in a blanket.
Inside, the home has a warm, lived-in feel. There’s a spacious, open-style kitchen perfect for prepping local seafood, a dining area for lingering over meals, and a cozy living room with a fireplace. The bedrooms are simple and neat: one with a queen, one full, and one with two twins — ideal for families or friends.
A short stone path leads to a small swimming cove (tide-dependent) and a dock, where you’ll find two kayaks and a wooden rowing dinghy available for guest use (waiver required). You can spend the day paddling around the bay, then head into the village just a half-mile away for lunch or supplies.
The Bungalow is also just an eighth of a mile from the Blue Hill Country Club — great for a round of golf or a quiet dinner — and for hikers, the Osgood Trail up Blue Hill Mountain is a must for sweeping views of the bay and beyond.
