Welcome to Bunglehigh – A Quiet Retreat on the Blue Hill Shore
Once a carriage house, Bunglehigh has been beautifully transformed into a cozy, one-bedroom oceanfront retreat, situated among towering trees and landscaped gardens in a peaceful family compound. With artful touches throughout and sweeping views across the bay to Blue Hill Mountain, this cottage offers comfort and inspiration.
Inside you’ll find a light-filled living area with built-in bookshelves, comfy seating, and warm lighting. French doors lead to a wraparound porch perfect for morning coffee or evening wine under the trees. The fully-equipped kitchen—featuring custom cabinetry, wood countertops, and charming decor—opens to a small dining nook with garden views.
The queen bedroom is adorned with botanical prints and elegant drapes, and includes a private ensuite bath and access to a quiet deck. A second door connects the bedroom to a hallway with access to the main living space and kitchen.
Outdoors
Bunglehigh is set amid stone walkways, flower gardens, and hand-placed yard art. A short stroll leads to a private cove where campfires are allowed — perfect for evening gatherings under the stars. Guests have use of two brand-new kayaks, a rowing dinghy, and a jetty for easy water access. A deep-water mooring is available upon request—perfect if you’re arriving by boat.
Watch chipmunks and red squirrels play in the woods, or spot seals and seabirds along the tide. During high tide, enjoy a (refreshingly cold!) swim or simply soak in the view of the iconic Blue Hill steeple across the water.
